Ohlone Indians

Written by Allison, Michelle, Alex (3)

We are learning about  how the Ohlone Indians lived.  We are making an Ohlone diorama, which is a little scene on how they used to live.  They used to live around San Francisco.  Their house is made out of willow bark.  Some of the things they eat are wild fruits, vegetables, and animals that they hunt.

Do you know anything more about the Ohlone Indians?

No, I don't know more about the Ohlone Indians, but I do have a question. Did women wear jewelry back then, and if so, what kind?

I hope you'll learn more about the Ohlone in the coming weeks. Last week when I was in San Jose, I saw a display at a country club that showed information about the Ohlone. Looks like they also lived in the San Jose area.

I am learning a lot about the Ohlone Indians from Michelle! It is very interesting to learn how they lived and what they did. I told Michelle that we are very lucky to have many electronics nowadays to make lives easier for us instead of doing everything by hand like the Ohlone Indians.
